The PATHS Consultant Database Centre

The goal of PATHS is improving the health status of poor Nigerians, measured in terms of progress towards the Millennium Development Goals.  The purpose is to improve the delivery and use of effective, replicable, pro-poor health services for the management of priority health condition.  As part of this process, the PATHS Consultant Database Centre was set up.  The vision of CDC is to provide high quality professional Nigerian consultants who would integrate local knowledge with best practice and experience in providing technical support to PATHS Other DFID-funded programmes and other development partners.

The CDC Operates on the following objectives:

"        Source for high quality national consultants in different expertise areas in the field of health

"        Maintain a comprehensive database of such professionals who would provide high quality technical assistance when requested

"        Coordinate and manage the engagement of national consultants across the PATHS teams

"        Provide opportunity for capacity building of national consultants

"        Building consultancy skills of Nigerian consultants to increase the availability and quality of local technical expertise to PATHS and other development partners.

"        Establishing a support system through which consultant skills can be strengthened; ensuring that consultants have access to state of the art information and resources; and, consultants can add new skills to their "repertoire."

"        Creating a "learning" network that provides professional mentoring for consultant work, including mentoring of other consultants

"        Promote national consultants and encouraging the use of local expertise

Currently the PATHS Consultant Database has a total of 433 registered members. CDC is always sourcing for Nigerians professionals in diverse expertise areas especially in the field of health.  Interested persons can register with the CDC by completing the Consultants Details Form at no cost.
